Description: We Were There, Blacks in the Revolutionary War – An overview of Black Men that participated in the Revolutionary War.
Leon Vaughan is a researcher and historian. He generously donates his time and energy as a dedicated member
of the Historical Society of East Orange, the African American Historical & Genealogical Society, and the Bergen County Historical Society, and others.
He is a Revolutionary War and Civil War re-enactor and highlights the often-overlooked contributions of African Americans in the military.
Come and hear interesting historical accounts of Blacks who participated in the American Revolution.
Learn about Black men who fought alongside Washington and the British.
